Worst case for us is that we have to give JWE (Joshua Wilson-Esbrand) a decent run. How bad can he be. And if he is shit then we might have to play some other kid in a few games. I'm ok with it. Odds are the kids are alright.

Why do we have to make do with all these makeshifts though? It’s like when people say stones can play right back. Technically he can as he’s a right footed professional defender. Doesnt mean he does it well or doesn’t disrupt our attacking flow. Full backs are key in this side, it’s why that second summer we went balls deep on upgrading them which is why I find it so odd we’ve just happily ignored the left back position and happily just throw anyone with a left foot there.

How can we let this one slide? Cucurella is precisely what we need. He is the perfect leftback to solve a position that’s been problematic for us for so many years.
If Cancelo breaks mid season, who will play there? Aké is no leftback.

No other available leftbacks in world football makes me excited to sign. Cucurella would have been the last piece of the puzzle. I’m disappointed the club don’t offer more. He’s worth it.
