I honestly believe we don't need another player to replace Sterling

We already have wonderfull players who are being picked before him + Jack & Alvarez if needed

We could hold out till the last week & see how pre season goes or simply wait till January if things need freshening up

Zinchenko can also fit in easily down the left so not a problem imo

CF = Haaland, Alverez, Phil
LW = Phil, Jack, Alverez, Zinchenko
RW = Mahrez, Phil, Palmer, Bernardo, Alverez
Cancelo can also play either side if required

Save the cash & sign Jude next Summer for when Gundagun leaves
Zinchenko left wing ?

Latest quotes from their chairman are basically "brace yourselves for bad news". It's obvious we're waiting for confirmation on Sterling before making a good bid and then it'll get done.
Oh really? Can you link that?

"There's less than 3 or 4 clubs where some of the players are not for sale. We've got to be realistic and if a certain bid comes in and the player wants to move, the player will move."

Couched in "we don't want to lose our best players" but the message is pretty obvious.

Add to that what Cucurella himself said recently: "
The goal [at Brighton] was to develop so the big clubs can take notice. But if the opportunity arises, you have to take advantage of it. There are teams that you can’t say no to."

Left wing, left midfield, left back. He’s not only a perfect squad member but adaptable. He’s so underrated.
He hasn’t played left wing for us or his country in his entire career and doesn’t posses the pace you would normally expect from such a player. I am struggling to think of games he has played left midfield for us either but he has done that for his country

You’re joking right?
Who cares if Zin is a ”class act” or it being disrespectful? These are just feelings. Look at the data. That’s the only thing that should matter.

Cucurella is a gigantic upgrade on Zinchenko. Why else would City go for him?

Do you see Zinchenko anywhere in those stats? Zinchenko made a few massive games last season but let’s not kid ourselves. Cucurella for me is a dream signing. Capable of adding huge stability in defence and great stats going forward.

Stats like these are stupid when you have no context.

Cucurella played 3x the number of minutes of Zinny in the league.

I already posted in one of Zinnys threads, performance or transfer one, that showed how dominant of a left back he has been when you look at per 90.

He is the best left back in the prem.

Who is? Zinchenko?

You can scroll down where I mention Zinchenkos attacking attributes.

Completely underappreciated based on the response of some on here.
I agree that Zinch is a good at attacking. He does well to advance the ball up the pitch under a high press. He does well linking up with the left winger and left sided 8. However, the one thing he cannot do is to defend the way Walker does on the left and I think that's the one thing we are missing. Someone who has good recovery pace defending on counter attacks and who can also go on an overlapping run into space in attack. Cucurella is better suited for this. For the record I do hope Zinch stays and we can have 4 fullbacks.

Unfortunately with the five sub rule & what is it 9 on the bench? Versatile players aren’t in as much demand going forward, as there’ll be practically a player on the bench for every position. It’s also getting to the stage where Zinny is looking for a permanent spot in a permanent position, so on that basis it looks like he could be on his way, we’ve been here before though & he pushed on into an even better player then

I think this time he will go

I personally think Zinchenko will leave mate. I could genuinely see a move to Everton.

I think he is going nowhere. If we sign Cucurella, back to 4 for 2 positions with Cancello back to sharing more of the right with walker. If we don't sign him, could see us going for a RB instead and zinch and cancelo sticking with the left.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Zinch extend his contract, maybe even before anyone arrives. Too far?

depends on how happy he is mate with no doubt less game time? Maybe zinny is one of them players who fully appreciates and loves just being part of the squad and his surroundings and picking up winners medals without having to play 40-50 games a season? He may think that is better than playing a shit load of games but losing as much as winning or a possible relegation scrap?

I don't see why people are getting worried about this, it's generally a case of 1 out then 1 in. Just like last week with Phillips.

People forget that there are rules about squad size, as we are very happy with our current squad we are unlikley to be selling many more 1'st teamers. Lets say that we sign the guy from Brighton and then Chelsea pull out of the sterling deal. We are then potentially in a situation where we have to sell a player who we would rather keep.

We have a spare space in the squad just now, so Cucurella could come regardless of Sterling or anyone else leaving. If he does leave, we will have another space. If Ake leaves, 2 more, after having signed Cucurella or another FB.

I just don't see why you are linking a bid to the sale of Sterling. I am sure we would be able to finance this even if he was staying. Very much the other way round if this is happening Brighton need to get business done first.

It is incredible how many people here know exactly what Zinchenko wants what is prepared to accept and where he is happy to go. Particularly as he hasn't said anything publicly.

Because we announced Phillips just after saying goodbye to Jesus. And then pol balus or someone else o twitter said that is how we operate apparently. So now it is the only way we do business.

true mate but its a forum and you think he`s going to stay with no real factual noise about that either?
