City have an official opening bid of £30million turned down by Brighton,

I know it's Manchester city and everybody will try and bleed us dry, but a bit silly letting zinchenko leave before we had a replacement, we are now wide open with silly asking prices by clubs for their left-backs

I’ll say the same thing to you as you’ve posted the same thing for some reason.

Brighton are not in a stronger position now. They have a valuation. This was the same on the 1st June as it is today.

Why did you think it necessary to repeat your redundant point again today?

We WANT a left back. We do not NEED one. We seemingly WANT Cucurella. We do not NEED Cucurella.

It's worth noting that we have won four league titles with our only specialist LB making an occasional appearance (often, low quality). Saying that, I would like us to sign one as it could potentially improve the team.
We do need a left back. I think we needed a fullback before we sold Zinchenko. Now we only have 2. So we do need 1 imo. An injury to Walker or Cancelo and we are goosed. Will definitely sign one.

But anything less than £50m people will say Bloom gave in to city demands. That will work well whenever a player is wanted at Brighton just lowball an offer and we can say that you managed to get as much as possibke for him.

We know Pep is keen on Cucu and wants him however maybe your board are not convinced he is worth the price tag, no player is worth what they are sold for. Your board may have said ok Pep we will try but were not paying the full price, you low ball Bloom says no you come back with a slightly better offer thats rejected, you walk away and say sorry Pep we done our best.

Some on hear think its a done deal, i dont think so, i think Bloom will go down to £40 to £45 million plus addons to take it above 50.
Why would we sell Zinchenko for £30m if its not 99% done as all deals can collapse until its confirmed & hes sat next to Tixiki.
I thought in another tweet you said Bloom is looking for a big deal so is 3 times what you paid for him 12 months ago not that, If Bloom & BHA are looking at 60m+ then it won't happen as we've walked away from deals we don't think are value for money.. The reasonable posters on here reckon that its done for around £45m to £50m when you include the add ons.
We went through a similar senario with Grealish last season

What are the realistic alternatives?

Not overly keen on Sosa from the little I've seen of him. Raum has looked good the couple of times I've watched him but neither of them look great defensively and that's something I was looking forward to with Cucurella.

Are there any other well rounded options out there?
That Gosens looked brilliant for Atalanta for a while but he seems to have disappeared.

What is a fair price? No player goes for a fair price. Every club will will have a price that they put on a players head, so far Brighton want £50m. Overpriced yes can you get Bloom to lower i dont know.
£42.875 million plus 5m more if we win the Champs league or complete the domestic treble in the next 3 years and Cucurella plays 50 percent of games during the season we win either
There job done
You happy with that

We were linked to Mitchel of crystal palace. English left back

If they want 50M for Cucurella we should look elsewhere. Sure, he's their player of the year and is "premier league proven" but he will be a squad player for us. Cancelo will still start over him in important matches so 50M is too much.

I think Raum is the best of them. He was always my choice even before Cucurella. That’s if you don’t count the lad at Bayern who we can’t get!

I think he’s a good learner and Pep would sort him out where he could improve. He can’t have that many deficiencies if he plays for Germany sometimes.
The last bit is just a matter of missing alternatives. Gosens and Halstenberg had injuries, Thilo Kehrer never really impresses.
Raum might be on a good way though. Certainly great character and attitude. You just don't know how he will improve his defensive part, that's why Cucu would be a safer solution.
I also suppose Raum might prefer Bayern as City might be a step too far after his quick and steep development. IMO.

Yes maybe

Because it's not true about the price Brighton wanted or will end up getting

once you show your hand, you're done
city have to pay their asking price now or move on to somebody else, it's called business and a valuation can be put out but could be open to offers and some wiggle room, NOW its £50million and take it or leave it

He is not worth much more. I doubt we will railroaded into paying much on top of that as he is not worth it. Not played at the highest level and one good season does not warrant the fee Brighton apparently want. We will walk away, the player will be gutted and join someone else, at some point, probably missing out on trophies and a pay rise. He will also be annoyed with Brighton if he wants to leave. We have history for turning our back. We can’t lose here, hes not so important to us to be worth bothering about. Let’s have some perspective.. He is a decent, unproven player in a mid table team. We don’t need him we can go elsewhere.
Yuck

Nonsense. Brighton’s valuation has been known for weeks.

Selling Zinchenko hasn’t altered it by a penny.
