Marc Guehi | Leading target for City (p28)

Have tidied up the thread. I think if Guehi does sign, then there’s a legitimate discussion to be had regarding the armband stuff. Until then let’s not derail the thread with another argument about politics in football.

Tolmie was saying we might be swapping Bobb for him.

Not sure how I feel about that.. but Bobb really hasn't recovered from the injury in the way we hoped he would in a manner he would make right winger spot his own.

I would think we need help at DM, RW, maybe AM.

Would be a brilliant signing.

Of all our centre backs only Stones and Gvardiol are better, and Stones is injured too often to rely on.

Dias is ok but not great in the air for a centre back. A bit slow too. Aké injury prone now too.

The rest are young lads, unproven, certainly not as good as Guehi. We should be all over this signing. He’s too good to let the scouse wankers have him.

I don’t think Ake deserves to leave, he has had his injury problems but when fit he seems solid. If Dias or Gvardiol get an injury or a suspension, who better than Nathan?
He's finished mate. The injuries have taken their toll. He's got no pace anymore, and the next injury is always just around the corner.

Agree. We should keep politics out of football.

He walks into the dippers side - and if he doesn’t, he’s got more of a chance to get in there before ours with the ages of their CBs compared to ours.

Be interesting to see who he ends up picking.

I bet Chelsea will throw their name in the hat too.

I would rather defend for Pep, under the tactics of a true grand-master mind — with an attack of Haaland, Cherki, Doku and Foden ahead of me, than defend against them. Because I know the probabilities are heavily skewed toward City breaking records, winning multiple trophies, and continuing to make history.

I’d rather be a winner than a runner-up, even if that means being the 3rd choice CB at times. I would rather have my name etched into the history books under the greatest football manager the world has ever seen.

If Guehi’s priority is guaranteed starts and being first choice every week, then Liverpool is there for him. But if he wants to fight for his place, test himself at the highest level, setting records, and be part of something truly great, then the decision is simple — it’s this club.
