Even though the rumours are most likely shit, it's still irritating to know how perfect a fit he'd be for the club and how relatively cheap we could get him for but we can only spend £49million. More than Sanchez, Isco, Hazard or RVP, it'd be this one I'd be annoyed at if it slipped through our fingers.

Agreed. Do still think we are missing that last piece of the jigsaw. Reus could be that piece as an AM that can score goals. Love Silva and Nasri to bits but their lack of goals does worry me sometimes, especially when Yaya is away at the ACON or with the fairies.
Not just this, he offers pace and directness on the left, which would allow more cover for Kolarov or Clichy. He can also replace Aguero as a striker when injured as they're pretty similar. I know what you mean about Nasri; sometimes he's brilliant, sometimes he slows the play down so much they've got 5 players back in the box. So for a world class 20+ goals a season player who can play multiple positions, I hope we've at least enquired.
If he's as cheap as that, could we do what PSG proposed with Di Maria? Pay a small installment with a promise to pay the remainder next season? Would this beat FFP?
If BVB sells then they want the cash straight away, we are not only ones who want him. Loads of clubs I imagine bidding for him and that enables BVB to take straight cash. BVB isn't very rich either.

With further sales this season we can offer them upto 40 million pounds upfront (Richards,Guidetti, Sinclair and one of Nasty/Negredo)

Still very much doubt we purchase him unfortunately. If he goes to Atletico then he goes to Atletico or somewhere else we can't sign everyone.

A lot of moves to make in two weeks. Especially considering how hard it is to sell some of those guys. Would be shocked if we brought in anyone at this point. Hopefully BVB decide to keep a hold of him and we'll get a crack in January. I think it's more likely we'll miss out on this guy though.

indeed...it was for the same reason (among others) that we did not got for Sanchez I think.

Very unlikely that the move would happen even if he is really available.

Much rather see him at Atletico than at Arsenal.

The Guardian says Dortmund make 'revenue well north of €300m per season' http://www.theguardian.com/football/blo ... bundesliga so whilst they're not a PSG, us or Chelsea, they're not as poor as we might think. I think with losing Lewandowski, the race for the number 2 spot is pretty tight, so I think they'll try and keep Reus as long as possible.

Definitely; Reus and Sanchez flanking a top quality striker would be disgustingly good. Still, I think it's funny that due to FFP, we can't put a 30mil bid in, but a club that's over 500mil Euros in debt can.

Reus has never been on Atletico's agenda

The club´s CEO says the Spanish champions are pursuing a different type of player following reports linking them with a bid for the German

Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus has never been a transfer target for Atletico Madrid, according to the Spanish champions' CEO Miguel Angel Gil Marin.

Reports emerged in Spain this week claiming Atleti had lodged a bid for the Germany winger as they look to bolster their forward line following the sale of Diego Costa and injury to Arda Turan.

However, Gil Marin has made it clear the club are pursuing very different targets to the 25-year-old.

"Reus has never been on Atletico's agenda and his profile does not fit with what the team currently need," he told TVE.

Reus has been the centre of transfer speculation this summer, with reports over a possible bid from Bayern Munich causing friction between the two clubs, despite Pep Guardiola's insistence that he did not deem the player a necessary signing for the German champions.

The attacker has also been linked with a possible switch to the Premier League, with Arsenal and Manchester United credited with an interest.

Reus' current contract with Dortmund expires in 2017.
