No, but Yaya is gone and that creates a hole. Dinho did so well for City last season. I think it is hard to see him performing to the same high standard and managing suspensions and injuries.

We seem to be going into the season with an obvious weakness and one we have already identified. We seem to be happy going for a sticking plaster appoarch of playing a player there we must of deemed below Jorginho’s quality or not promoting a youth player.

I think people are just worried it will bite.

For me the first time in history City are truly are an elite team and the most attractive we have ever been for potential players. It seems the time to push on!

Call me crazy, but at some point we're gonna have to replace Fernandinho. Not that's his not an absolute monster, it's just a fact.
It'd be good for us to get a replacement now, give him a chance to bed into the team properly whilst simultaniously giving ferny a break every now and again prolonging his career.

Completely agree Karen....I dont think anyone is having a full on panic we just talking about the club has identified an area of need and getting cover/long term replacement for a guy (Fern) that is 33years old and cant be expected to play another 40-50game season as top level week in, week out...

I may be wrong, but is this the first time you have mentioned this?

There are many who seem to think we should simply by anyone just in case. If a player doesn't improve us, we will not buy. So many also seem to think the club are unaware and have not attempted to strengthen.

In retrospect yes, but City would have been very nervous if we didn't have Yaya at the beginning of last season.
We were really lucky fernandinho was relatively free from injury / red card and in form. Cant rely on that alwaysy

The only way I'll be happy with signing a midfielder is if we offload one. If Gundogan moves then by all means bring Verratti in. Otherwise, there needs to come a time when we trust in our amazing academy, and the fact that if needed we can play Stones in a holding role, and there aren't many better understudies around than Delph.

Too many spoilt fans who just want another signing for the sake of it. Real, Barca and Bayern still manage to bring through youth players whilst still winning titles. We're at that level now. Trust in Gomes and Luis for the smaller games and see what they're made of.

We have some incredible young players, and to be honest if it's the choice of winning the champions league this season and blocking every possible route for our youngsters, or blooding them in now and having to wait another season before we dominate then I would go for the latter.

By the way, signing another 10 superstars wouldn't necessarily guarantee us a better season than last year. It was a pretty good season, remember?
