100m would not be overpaying for him at all, he is already a world class player with his best years ahead of him and is quite literally the perfect Pep player
We absolutely need a number 6, Fernandinho is 33 years old and we don't know where his confidence is after the world cup, Gomes is still 18 and has never played a minute of competitive senior team football.
If we have actually been presented a chance to sign a player of Verratti's calibre we should be all over it.
I should rephrase. That’s my perspective on how I see the club looking at things. I’m with you and think we should get him. My comment about the ‘perfect squad’ comes off like some LFC style arrogant bullshit but that’s just me behind honest with how I see it.

pep did say that if a "special player was available" we may go for him...well, Verratti fits that description. people on here have been saying that the club cant just go for anyone to make up the numbers (i completely agree) but if TH is correct and he is being offerred around and is available we should be all over him....he aint just anyone and is one of those special players.

Not sure how this thread got to 40 pages. Not seen any credible evidence that a) the player is actually for sale, b) that we have any interest in him or c) that PSG would ever consider selling to us. I guess we live in hope but the odds on this transfer happening are up with Cardiff winning the Premier League next May.
