some comments on here disgust me and make me ashamed to be a City fan, how some of you can come on here and slag off one of the most talented players our club has been fortunate enough to own and one of our best players last night disgusts me.

I hope he leaves because he doesn't deserve the treatment some of you fans give him, it's totally unjustified.

Were you watching the same game last night? I for one am not slagging him off in general, but his performance last night was poor, but then again so was 90% of the teams. It was obvious Sylvinho needed help and like SWP covers on the right, he should have covered on the left when it was clear Sylvinho was like a rabbit in Lennon's headlights. That alone doesn't warrant the abuse some are dishing out on here, but to say he was one of our best players is a bit daft. Even my mrs, who literally knows nothing about football, said at one point, 'why is he just stood there'? it was a fine question for which I could only say, 'he is waiting for the ball'. Thing is though, it was obvious Sylvinho wasn't going to give it him anytime soon, so he should have backtracked and got it himself. that is what disppointed me, but like I say the same can be said for most of the team really.

So we're counting assists of assists now ??? In that case he's brilliant cos I remember loads of times that he touched the ball...and then we scored 5 mins later. Haha, is that the best you can do for a 32.5mil quid 'Superstar' ???

No i'm talking about creative play where He has been influential and helped to create a goal scoring opportunity. Where with-out him it would not have happened! I'm not denying that we payed more than he's shown he's worth but I think to say we should get shut of him is a complete joke! He brings something to the team that non of the other players do. I would agree that he plays better when the rest of the team are playing well, also he does go missing in games. But if we sell him i seriously think we are going backwards in terms of progression and we would probably replace him with some rubbish signing from Blackburn courtesy of Mr. Hughes!

I never said sell him but until we see some effort on his part he shouldn't be playing. A few assists and goals do not cover up the fact that he is NOT a world class player. Sure he has the potential to be, but potential is nothing if you dont realise it...

So how do you suppose we materialise his potential? As we have agreed he has it there. I believe as with Adebayor we have neither the skill, class or creativity in the midfield to support these players qualities.

Its Barry's job to cover Sylvinho, not Robbie's, Robbie wasn't bought for it and shouldn't have to do it, we've spent so much money every player should be able to do his job and that alone and us still win, knowing Sylvinho couldn't handle it why did Hughes still pick him? Zabba or Barry could have played there, it makes no sense but once again it all comes down to Robbie. Ireland, Richards, Toure, Onouha, Sylvinho, Adebayor, Barry, De Jong were all worse than Robbie last night in my opinion, Robbie didn't get the ball, and it's not his job to be on the edge of our own area(which he did quite a few times last night, even Andy Gray was finally forced to admit Robbie was tracking back quite a bit) doing De Jong and Barry's job.

Fortunate ? Don't make me laugh. He's talented, yeah.....so f*cking what. Let's see some work ethic to go with it.

Well those players we bought for a work ethic did fuck all yesterday, Robbie actually did something meaningful.

Didn't deserve his wage packet either last night, or are we paying £150k a week for what he's capable of and not what he actually does.
I must tell my boss need a wage rise as I'm capable of loads of stuff I don't do at work!

When the chips are down, like last night, everyone should go out of their normal roles if required, especially when a full back is literally being eaten alive. I agree with the Sylvinho bit though, he should have come off as soon as he got skinned for the snd time, with Barry going there and Kompany coming on in Barry's position.

Robinho did try though, but it's not his role, never has been and he's never had to play as a 2nd LB, tracking back a bit has always been improving off him and he's doing it more than ever, but when you have tough tackling players like Barry and De Jong they should be seeing it and sorting it, and Stevie Ireland should be playing where he was meant to be instead of trying to play centre forward half the frigging time. What's the point in playing Adebayor if he's gonna wonder off to the right wing and do fuck all? nothing. If he's not gonna play as an out and out striker he shouldn't play at all. And how many times do Stevie and Tevez have to run into people with the ball and give it away before they get criticised over last night? particularly Stevie, he was awful.
