Feel free to enlighten.

I've googled the key points and I'm getting nothing.

Well the English press seem to have missed it but one of the many Italian videos and reports is linked below. Basically Berlusconis brother Paolo ended a presentation before Sundays game by stating " now lets go and watch the Family Ni***r". Worryingly nobody takes offence and appear to find this quite amusing.

Link

Tip:
Never take a literal translation to mean what it says.

It does NOT say ni**er.

It basically means "let's go watch our little black child". There's a reason noone inside of italy is taking offense, because it's not offensive.

Of course, he could have done without adding the "black", but not everyone is as lax as the italians are in some areas.

Hope that clears it up

It's a bit like the monkey noises at away games. The fans arent racists they just like doing animal impersonations.

You must not have been watching against Everton at home last season then when he ran over to Mancini to hug him, or against Wigan away this season when he went and hugged Tevez on the touchline.

Why didn't Mario play like that for us? Didn't react when he was fouled and he even managed a smile when he scored.

Confirms what I always thought - he just wasn't arsed about playing for us. Not even Mancini could get him to perform at his best for us. Shame really, as he could have been one of our "All Time Greats" but it wasn't meant to be.

I think Mario is glad to be home and with his pals around him so I expect him to start playing well again at Milan. Remember he's just a young lad. In saying that the standard of defender in Italy seems way off your average Premier League defender so Serie A makes him look better.
Anyway good luck to the lad wish him well. Will always remember his one and only assist last year - Aguerooooooooooooooooooo !

Need to set a few things straight, since I see some uncontrollable bias going down.

a) According to ESPN average attendance rates for City v Milan in 2012/13 are:
City - 46,,964
Milan - 45,974

So why is it Milan/Mario are "playing infront of an empty stadium"?
Answer: They're not - They just have an incredibly large stadium, far too big for what they need. So ya, seats are empty, but attendance wise... No.

b) Serie A is in 'decline'

In the past 10 years, Italy has 3 Champions League Winners..
In the past 5 years, MORE Italian teams have 'gained ground' on the top clubs in Italy... Fiorentina, Udinese, Napoli, Roma, Lazio... This creates MORE parity, and in my opinion, a much BETTER league.

Serie A boasts some FANTASTIC players... is a hot bed for serious youth products. Is it LOADED with all the greatest like it used to be? No. Financially, it isn't feasible anymore. But there are still loads of youth products here... Both international, but more importantly.. Local product. The on field product is fantastic to watch. Defensively, it is still tactically sound, but has become more offensive as well. This is a welcome change imo. Gone are the days of Nesta, Maldini, Baresi... But that's the nature of the game.. Those defenders dont exist anymore, PERIOD.

------

Every "fan" thinks their league rains supreme. I think Serie A is an unquestionable top league. EPL fans believe the same about theirs, as to La Liga fans, and Bundesliga's.

And most fans who can't take their "blinders" off will shit all over other leagues.Example: EPL is a joke to many foreigners. A joke league with joke defending and foreign owned oil funded teams. Me, I see the positives in the EPL. great players, great prospects, great spending power, great excitement. I get it, a top flight league.

I just personally feel that those who say Serie A is no longer a top flight league and in serious decline are just shrouded in bias, disdain for Italy, or simply dont watch the league.

But enough of that for now.
Cheers
Brilliant post, glad I went back a few pages and caught it. Most fans in this country are drip fed their football knowledge by Sky, the Sun/Times/Mirror/Mail and Talkshite. Every single one of them has a vested interest in perpetuating the myth that our league is absolutely untouchable. It may be the richest league, but it's certainly not as good as it's made out to be.

I really hope Mario becomes the player that I hoped he would be here. His only chance of making it in this country would have been to sign for the Rags as that is the place where he would have got protection. Far too many of our fans wrote him off too early.

MOTM effort with a brace to win it. Best I've ever seen him play.

You compare his effort today with his efforts for City, you get the impression City was a 100k/week purgatory on his long journey to Milan. Very annoying.

He was a fraud for us. Italian football will suit him down to the ground. You can piss about all game without breaking into a sweat. He'll enjoy playing against 60 year old defenders every week. He'll soon settle into his old ways, that you can be sure off.
Biggest load of old bollocks I have ever heard lad tried his best you should be ashamedof yourself

Well the English media have finally picked up on it so lets see how your none offensive comments are viewed in a somewhat less bigoted country. Before you take offence the bigotry comment is a dig at Italy and not you personally. I have no idea if you are a bigot or not (from your post history I doubt it) but it concerns me that you think P. Burlesconi's comments are defendable.
