Referees gave him loads of decisions. Some refs - Mike Dean and Howard Webb, for example, both did this - used to go and have little chat with him throughout the game to make sure he was okay (what more can you ask for?). Clettenberg sent off Johnny Evans for bringing him down, Webb didn't send him off for the blatant flick at Parker's head and the gave him a penalty in the last minute to win the game. These are just big decisions off the top of my head, he probably got dozens if I really thought about it.

Also opponents didn't always have sly digs at him, some tried it on - West Ham, Blackburn, United games spring to mind - but not many at all really.

His time at City was hit and miss and a lot of it was down to himself and his own downfalls. His attitude and application in some games was appalling. He had more unacceptable performances than brilliant ones for us.

This is coming from a fan of Mario. I like him. I always will. I'm pissed off with him for all those games he was a waste of time because of how good he can be. Blaming everyone else but him for his downfalls is a cop-out.
I really don't know many blues at all who don't think Balotelli wasn't harshly treated when it came to bookings. You can't cite Webb in your defence either because he said after the Spurs match he hadn't seen it and so Balotelli got a ban for that incident.

-- Fri Mar 29, 2013 7:36 pm --

What a fantastic post.
Doesn't surprise me in the least that you didn't notice Webb was why Balotelli got banned for the Parker incident.

He's being continually annihilated in Serie A, as I saw he was in EPL when it comes to being fouled.

Only now, he's keeping his patience much more in check. But Id be pressed to find anyone drawing more fouls per game since he arriveed here

The issue is, opponents are only getting whistled... Not nearly enough yellows are being thrown in the air for tackles on him. I dont think he'll ever shake that 'mantra' of being steadily fouled

Course if balotelli hadn't have stamped on Parkers head, there would be nothing for him to have been banned for.
Good riddance.
The poster who said he would have contributed to the second half of the season made me piss. What like he contributed to the first half?
Good riddance.

Irrelevant to the argument being made, even if you agree with your perspective on it, which I don't. You cannot claim Webb let him off, because he didn't. Webb saying he never dealt with the incident because he didn't see it, led to Balotelli being suspended. That is an absolute incontestable fact. You therefore cannot claim it as an example of a referee giving Balotelli a favourable decision.

I agree, I doubt he would have contributed if Mancini had continued to shove him on the left in a style of play that's an anathema to his best attributes. It was right for Balotelli to go. AC Milan will continue reaping the dividends though and good luck to them.

Ask Jamie Redknapp his opinion of Mario, if it agrees with yours, then you can see what type of company you're in.
This Cnut and papa set about a witch hunt with Mario never before seen in English football, twaty Jnr on sky and twaty snr with bum chum scribes, it was a disgrace all backed up by the scum media, ill hate then two 2 faced money grabbing cnuts as long as live, his phone call to papa from the studio during the Parker incident should never have been allowed, nepotism beyond duty. No impartiality whatsoever, I mean didn't Mario turn senior down on a loan before he came to city ?

Totally agree but redknapp Jnr had no duty to use nepotism to forward senior any message to manoeuvre a statement in full public in the corridors of the etihad, junior went above his station, I didn't see the same vitriolic sensation when the week after esso ekoto tried to snap the Wigan players leg at whl where was twaty jnrs phone call then
