I want to wake up one day soon to read a headline that says Clattenburg found guilty of corruption charges and match fixing , and subsequently jailed !

This cnut should not be allowed to referee any games imo.

He wasn't fit to ref a sunday league game, let alone be in charge of the countries top refs.

A hundred pages on a PL ref!! Either this guy walks on water and is an amalgam of Mahatma Ghandi, Buddha, Mother Theresa and the Holy Ghost or he is a cheating bastard.

That video of Old Mother Riley: Can you imagine any one of our players committing those kind of fouls and getting a finger wagging. It was clear that so-called 'top' referees were well and truly gonna ref according to the instructions the old GPC had issued during the warm up!

For me that "performance" by Riley was one of those times when you remember where you were when you saw it, when it became clear that games are rigged. More than that, there is no accountability to the watching public, no interviews/questioning of the officials, no transparency whatsoever - a perfect environment for corruption. No doubt there were fans around then saying the exact same this as a lot are saying now - that the ludicrous decisions are all just 'honest mistakes'. Not a chance.

I've never seen that refereeing performances but yeah I agree. You simply have to walk off after that. Reyes could have ended up with a 12 month injury after that systematic hacking on the same ankle. Absolutely disgusting and the Sky commentary says it all. Disgusting from the scum

Just thinking the same thing! I watched it with my lad and we were astonished at the blatant corrupt performance.

Somehow I don't think I've seen that Riley montage before. Brings to mind Coleman's introduction from Chile '62 (?).
I thought Vieira and Campbell were going to thump one of the scrotes, and their suggestions that they'd done nothing wrong were laughable.
