Mark Clattenburg

Place your bets on when he'll next pitch up at City.

I reckon we might get him at an away match somewhere - Swansea maybe if they're safe and City are guaranteed at least top 3. Somewhere to let the venting of abuse happen.
Or will they put it off until next season and hope that we'll forget (I think not).
Arsenal or United at home and dickhead Dean on the touchline. They make quite the team

If we're living in a time where referee's 'human error' is to continue in the game, we just have to grin and bear it when refs get it wrong. But, Jeez, does this guy get it WRONG! There's run of the mill wrong, there's woops! wrong, there's Corporal Jones Yellow Card for Diving Bastard Sergio Wrong, The TimeLord Atkinson Wrong, the Jonny Moss I think it hit his arm 'cos my lino five yards away sez it hit his arm Wrong, and there's way off the scale Crappenberg Wrong.
But what do you do about it? Crappenburg gets a free weekend then he's back performing his one man show at stadiums around the country. For one thing, the club should be getting Riley in and showing him the obvious bias this clown has against us. That handball decision, the two penalties not given and failure to award a second yellow to Suarez at Anfield two seasons ago. The penalties not awarded a Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge in the 2011/12 season. The Bellamy sending off and his prior remarks. We should be saying to Riley "This referee is clearly exhibiting a bias against us and it is not acceptable for him to be officiating us in the future. Everton did it with him after he shafted them in the Merseyside derby. It was 5 years before he reffed them again.

Perhaps we should also have promotion and relegation, so that the two worst performing Select Group refs are demoted for the following season and the two best performing refs outside that group are promoted.

I'd remove us from the equation. I don't want a clueless ref in any game.

We should be saying to Riley "This referee is clearly exhibiting a bias or ineptitude and it is not acceptable for him to be officiating anyone in the future. "

I think yer right, PB. The old GPC would have had him on a list of refs no grata had he perpetrated at The Swamp some of the shit we've suffered. But I fear it is the same old crap from PiGMOL - refs scrutinising refs. Just look at the example of Howie Redshirt in his BT shed! He thought the clean out that Sterling got from Stones wasn't a pen, and had he been the video tech official we still wouldn't have got it.

I think there are two things that need to be implemented. First, replays for every goal scored, every penalty, and every sending off BEFORE they are confirmed one way or the other and shown on the big screens as they are at cricket, rugby and tennins arenas, and, secondly referees to face the music after each game.

Thought it was the Leicester foul on Aguero that Webb thought wasn't a penalty.
Haven't heard him comment on the Stones/Sterling one, but you may be right.

Looks like a fairly low profile agency. Not sure about conflict of interest. The only PL player on their pages is Willy Cabellero! The rest seem to be a fairly motley crew of non-league, minor Scottish and the odd Antipodean player. I'm not saying he's not a useless lump just pointing out that there doesn't look to be a huge conflict of interest.
He's a bertie big bollocks and some of the players in that agency might need some extra cash. Who better to facilitate than a "Top" ref with contacts. Hypothetically, of course.

I thought that Mr Riley´s job was to ensure that the standard of referees was as high as possible.
If he condones Mr C´s inability to referee fairly surely Mr Riley is just as guilty.

Mike Riley, impartial, honest and not at all biased.

He wasn't fit to ref a sunday league game, let alone be in charge of the countries top refs.

Agree with a lot of that. If we're waiting for the media to take up the cause in our name we'll be waiting forever. It's a talking point for them so they profit from it. I've thought for a while that the premier league needs a larger pool of refs so that the ones who mess up can be given 'longer holidays'. That wouldn't improve the quality but it might make them think twice before giving decisions they're not sure about. Also agree with the other poster saying we shouldn't be a factor in this. Poor refereeing is bad for everyone, I even remember Clattenburg putting in a stinker when Leicester beat the rags last season. My only worry is that if we do what Everton did we're likely to have no refs left to do our games.

On a side note, this clown's antics on the pitch are embarrassing, from the way he waves play on (looks more like a NY traffic cop at times) to the way he looks down his nose at players who have the audacity to ask for an explanation for decisions like the one on Sunday. Loves the media and is a cert for one of the referee 'expert' jobs when he packs it in.

Glad he's still not getting an easy ride on here.
