You don't neglect the league at the expense of Europe. The league is any club's financial bread and butter and worth far more than Europa League.fast eddie said:Prestwich_Blue said:Don't agree. There's a lot of hype around Hodgson. Let's not forget they finished in the bottom half last season after finishing 7th the previous season. Hardly progress and even Boro under Maclaren managed to get to the UEFA Cup final.
There's hype around him for a good reason. Fulham's run to the Europa League Final was incredible and they were neglecting their League Matches a little because they didn't have the squad to get away with challenging both as well as they may have wished to. He won Manager's Manager of the year for a good reason. Liverpool will toughen up considerably now he's in charge.
That's your opinion. I happen to know he turned down offers because he wasn't keen to move his family if possible. As a manager who consistently finished top-half, he's entitled to think he's good enough for a decent job.fast eddie said:Hughes was perhaps a little arrogant in his approach following his departure from City. Other Managers have taken Jobs in lower Divisions yet he allegedly turned a couple of solid offers down because he thought he was too good.
