Mark hughes???

You cannot be right Alibobs. After spending £123M and having the greatest young British Manager around we certainly will not finish 1 place lower than last season.

Work out how to keep the ball from a throw in.
Gain an advantage from corners and other set pieces.
Defend corners.
Coach the team to get forward quickly instead of being polite and knocking the ball backwards and forwards until the opposition can get themselves ready to defend.
Either get a forward who can play up on their own or stop playing as though we already had one.
Oh yeh one last thing - get them all fit to last 90 minutes.

And Bluepeter you should stick to making useless objects out of sticky back plastic. You didn’t make Hughes did you?

Fair summary

I liked his postmatch interwiev, you could see in his eyes how much he wants that seventh place.

I think if he gets us there he will stay, if not well....

because it is worth some extra dough in his redundancy package.....

Our biggest advantage is our money but MH can't take advantage of that imo

You don't need mega bucks to get the basics right. watch the Championship and you will see teams working hard for each other, lasting 90 minutes. All of these things he could have done. Game after game we look as though the players we have, have not progressed.

I dont give a fuck how anyones dresses it up we have had a shit season especially after expecting so much and with the money MH has spent i still think he has bought some poor players and injury prone ones as well. It is ok everybody saying we will be a force in 5 years,i am 66 and might not have 5 years left.(I will admit i did enjoy the Mercer- Alison era) so i want it now

If the owners can find/convince/pay enough a true top class manager who has a proven track record of winning things to take over, hughes will be gone, if they cant hughes will stay & in a few years may well become a good manager, but do the owners want to wait that long?

I have absolutely no idea what is going to happen at the end of the season as regards to Hughes. But it does seem an awful lot of money is going to be spent. Highly likely we will be spending more money than Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool combined.

Which means we are, lack of trophies notwithstanding, competing with the elite of European football. Both for players and more importantly managers.

The one question that needs asking is this. When Ramos leaves Madrid, when Hiddink leaves Chelsea, when Ancelotti leaved Milan will these elite clubs be knocking at Mark Hughes door?

I suspect not. So why the hell should he be managing City, just because he is here already?

Can our owners gamble on him not being another Steve Bruce?

Keep Hughes. I would only doubt him after 3 or 5 years. You can´t build a successive team in a few months.
Do you really think that a morinho, rijkaard or a scolari would do a better job?

We need to stick with one manager for a change and let him create a team. Mark has had a very difficult job with the pressure, the sheik money and the press and he´s doing great. Keep him at least for 3 more years then judge him. If we had beat the rags today then we would of been highest in the league than ever before.
And what if we do get a morinho (or any other top manager) do you really think he will stay for longer than 3 years? We need a manager like fergie (excuse my french) who stays for longer than a season or two!
