He was a quality player in the promotion race and as i remember had a cracking left boot.

I know he Mark did, but I have it in my head it was like a major deal at the time, not only cos of the fee, (£2m for a first division player), but cos his dad played for Liverpool too, but like I say it may just be this Chardonnay having a laugh at my expense
