Mark Kennedy

Used to see him in the Press cub fronm time to time. Always had a nice bird on his arm and was a top man to boot. Did like a jar or two though.

It was a strange season that Royle promotion to the Premership one. We never really had a settled back four or midfield but Weaver and Kennedy were the outstanding performers week in week out and we just kept on grinding out results.

Although AJ's twice the player, they are quite similar in styles; both can beat a man without really looking like they're flying and both have excellent delivery.

I must be honest, I'm still not sure how we got automatic promotion that season. 'Blood and guts' springs to mind.

And lucky as ****! Blackburn away and Birmingham away summed up that season for me. Utterly shat on but won both matches. One of my favourite ever seasons.

I wonder what sort of reception he'll get if Cardick come up, a good one I would've thought, he never give it 'all that' when he played for Wolves v us did he

Was my favourite player as a young lad.

His celebrations were class.
He was my first 'favourite player', not quite sure why...
I seem to remember him jumping into the crowd in the Platt Lane Stand, and my Dad having to hold on to me because I tried to jump about 6 rows to get to him! And him running up the touchline to celebrate with Royle. What others did he do?

I also liked Kennedy. Played some attractive stuff on occasion.

Wasn't he a bit of a party animal though? I remember something in the press about him getting into trouble over jumping over cars (or something similar). Mind you, he was pretty young then.

met him in dublin after the scotland game..told him i was a city fan....and he was kind of rude. i don t like the lad tbh!

funny... he grabbed my mate (who always hated mccarthy-irish manager at the time)for screaming MUTINY against mccarthy!!!!

kennedy got better with age as a player, but was a tool as a person in his younger days...although that is my opinion!
