I think I remember him scoring a cracker at Loftus Rd once. Agreed, far from shite but not world class by any means.

wow that's going back some years.

not sure but think I was there. Tuesday night away. was it 3-1 ? I beleive a certain mr Hughes scored a very late volley equaliser that night against Oldham in the semis. took the edge off the journey home.Is this right or is my brain in need of wings ?

Yes I think someone got sent off aswell or might have been another encounter with the mighty R's

Hughes's volleyed equaliser against Oldham was in 1994. But you're right about them playing Oldham in the FA Cup semi final replay at Maine Road (they won in extra time) the same night as we won at QPR in the game in which Ward scored.

Ward was a good player for us - I liked him. Was only at the club for 18 months, I think, and didn't play in his best position much, as we tended to use him wide on the left because we had David White for the right wing. He was sold off to help raise the money for the big money signing of Keith Curle, but I think that was partly also due to his falling out with Peter Reid. I seem to remember he kicked a bucket of water in anger over the manager when substituted one day, which was very amusing for everyone except Reidy, who apparently never forgave him for it.
