Marks & Spencer Christmas advert taken down

It was more of a joke - but as soon as I hit post I realised I'd misread what you meant about this being media-led, rather than your original point suggesting it might have been M&S planned. I've already gone back and re-edited the post acknowledging that.

It's fine, I got that.

I meant more that I wasn't going as far as suggesting they 'planned' it. Just that it wouldn't surprise me that they would have seen it coming and were ok with it. Still cynicism, just not to the extent you maybe read into.

Staunchly

definition.

"in a very loyal and committed manner."

Because it's a country that causes and increases injustice?

Was it possible to be pro-South African and woke?
There's a difference between being loyal or committed to a country, and believing what that country's government does is correct.

South Africa was a much more binary situation, but even so, I would imagine that Nelson Mandela would have considered himself pro-South Africa.

Seems a quick Google can see bunk that one. Although the colour of red being a Christmas colour had definitely been entrenched by coca cola - he appeared in many colours before the first coke adverts (according to Google lol)... Anyway a bit off topic lol

It was santa clause they re-coloured red, rather than Christmas as a whole.

I'm not talking about the current government, it runs much deeper than that. I've already told you that and you can't seem to grasp that. It's like you are stuck on a loop.

I was never talking about support for the current government.

Yes, he may well have done. But it meant something completely different.

If Israel means a country that always has to have a Jewish majority and adopt policies that prevent the demographic change, and someone supports that, I wouldn't think they were woke.

No I wouldn’t but in the scheme of things it’s a nothing event.

FYI

Woke is an adjective derived from African-American Vernacular English (AAVE) meaning "alert to racial prejudice and discrimination". Beginning in the 2010s, it came to encompass a broader awareness of social inequalities such as racial justice, sexism and LGBT rights.

As for who runs the world, my take is that it is the super wealthy companies and individuals who buy politicians, media and an army of propagandists to control and set the agenda. Your post is just a small result of their activities.
Agreed.

Have you considered you might be stuck on a loop? You're defining pro-Israel, or pro-South Africa in your own terms, rather than allowing for other people to have a different opinion.

All I pointed out was that there are quite normal people, many of whom would be quite happy to be seen as woke or left wing, and yet they would also describe themselves as pro-Israel. You can tell them they don't understand what Israel means, but I suspect they might disagree.

Don't have time to comment properly, too busy dipping Hamsters into pots of Palestinian Paint to target whatever TikTok tells me is the latest imperialistic retailer who someone random has thought should be boycotted.

Is it pro-apartheid?

Maximised their advert’s outreach perfectly. The agency will be delighted.

Wonder if the colours were photoshopped…
