Marks & Spencer Christmas advert taken down

Seems a quick Google can see bunk that one. Although the colour of red being a Christmas colour had definitely been entrenched by coca cola - he appeared in many colours before the first coke adverts (according to Google lol)... Anyway a bit off topic lol

lol apart from the fact that your debunking is wrong. Saint Nicolas has been depicted as a fat red man with a white beard since the 1800's

Is it pro-apartheid?
Very nuanced argument ;)

If you want to find people to argue vehemently with, there's a 750+ page thread on Israel/Palestine elsewhere. All I'm suggesting is that real people I know are a bit more complex than the binary pro-Israel/woke comment you initially made.

Christian colours for Christmastide are white and gold.
I know. Red and green were used previously during the winter solstice which to some degree got absorbed into Christmas. Holly and Ivy were frequently hung in houses.

Red and green also have some Christian symbolism too. Red for the blood of Christ and green represents eternal life. Certainly predates Coca Cola, though that most likely helped solidify the colours as part of 'modern Christmas'.

Seems like there was a few different colours back then tbf mate
not really it was constantly red by 1800, if you said pre 1800 then yes I'd agree but that's an incorrect answer.
