Unless you are van nistelrooy, ibrahimovic, van Persie or Suarez? Some decent strikers have come from that league to be fair

Always exceptions to the rules of course.. Think they turn out better when plucked from that league at a youngish age and developed elsewhere

Top scorers in that league;

15/16 - Janssen 27 goals - currently flopping at Spurs
14/15 - Depay - LOL
13/14 - Finnbogason - flopped in la liga
12/13 - Bony - flopped for us
11/12 - Bas Dost - Decent player(Wolfsburg now Sporting CP)
10/11 - Vleminckx - Who?
09/10 - Luis Suarez - Best striker in the world
08/09 - Mounir El Hamdaoui - Naff everywhere but the Eredivise
07/08 - Huntelaar - flopped at Madrid and Milan, decent for Schalke
06/07 - Afonso Alves - Scored more goals than he played games in Eredivise, then couldn't cut it in the prem(apart from hat-trick vs us of course)
05/06 - Huntelaar
04/05 - Kuyt - not good enough to play upfront for Liverpool, decent wide player due to his work rate though
03/04 - Kezman - the 3rd time he was top scorer in that league, flopped for Chelsea, Atletico & PSG

Alderweireld, Wijnaldum, Clasie, Pelle, Blind, Vertonghen, Tadic, Eriksen, Suarez all moved to the premier league in the last 5 years from the Eredivisie and excelled.

It's clear that there's still plenty of quality in the league, but people who think the top scorer = best player are idiots, just like anyone who thought the top scorer in the premier league last eason was it's best player.

Poor scouting and some high profile poor players doesn't invalidate the quality of players who do well in that league.

My initial post was that scoring loads of goals in that league isn't that impressive and then I pointed out others who had scored loads in that league...I didn't say they were the best players

Fixed your excelled list

Has anybody actually got a decent look at this guy playing (i.e. somebody living in Spain who has easy access to La Liga on telly?) ? Because he certainly isn't ripping up any trees at Deportivo. Subbed off yesterday on 58 minutes.

It's good that he's still getting games every now and then despite performing badly. He must show some good attitude in training I guess. Even if he's still hasn't performed well I still think its been a pretty good loan and experience for him.

Still very young and thrown into a tough new league but I have doubts he'd make it here. Considering he plays LW and Sancho will likely be our young-LW-inverted winger for the next 10 years (Sane being the regular winger).

Edit: Also, I actually try to watch Deportivo games as often as possible to see him play and he constantly makes the wrong decision, can grow from it, but still disappointing season for me.

He must have only recently come back.

Around October/ November time he had a reported season ending injury. That's why he hasn't played a lot.

That was fake news. He's either played or been on the bench at least once every month apart from in February where I guess they just didnt fancy him.

I still don't understand why Vickery absolutely raved about this guy when we got him. He claimed – claimed – that he was potentially a more important acquisition to us than Gabi Jesus! Obviously he gets things wrong like everyone, but I just find myself wondering what potentiality he was seeing that's been invisible since then.
