careful. there are criminals walking the street near the square and a great deal of pick pocketing. my pops had his wallet taken out of his pocket whilst he was trying to board a bus from the square. turned around and saw the prick run off.

filthy scum moroccans are

There are pick pockets in Amsterdam (and Manchester), and some dutch and english are "filthy scum", but it doesn't apply to everyone in any of the cities.

Take sensible precautions and you'll be fine, been to Morocco three times, and never had a problem apart from the hire car radio nicked, and that was my fault for not using a car park.

And the tipping advice is very good, you'll have an even better time if you give tips.

I think I know more about Moroccans than u do. I literally live with them, my area is full if them in Amsterdam. U cant get more Moroccans in Amsterdam than in Slotermeer. Google it. They are scums, iv had 2 breaks ins in my appt, one guy trying to stab me, a car break in all in the space of 12 months! Coincidence? Don't think so. Even the dutch natives hate em. And i don't blame em. Scums, and u think uk has got it bad with immigrants. U aint seen nothing i assure u. They claim dole over here whilst living the life in morocco. They live off stealing from dutch and expats. Try going to groningen, worse than Bradford I tell u. Much much worse. BTW im Asian! They dont give a f**k.

On the subject on Marrakesh. Been there twice, my opinion only, would never go there again nor would I recommend it. Pickpocket was the first, second I was followed by some random Moroccan who wanted to sell drugs to me.

So you live in and amongst a bunch of Moroccan people who have robbed you and stabbed you and you totally hate them and yet of all the places in the world you could choose to travel to you go to...... Morocco? Odd.

good one. ))) yep i went there twice before I moved to amsterdam. Attended a wedding of my cousin who married one. lol

What did people do in terms of money? Have read a few things that say its better to take Euros than Pounds to exchange? Not really sure I want to use my card too much over there....

Cant get Dirhams outside Morroco.Use the cash machines there but notify your bank.About 12 dirhams to the pouind iirc.Best spend all your money there as they are worthless outside the country.

OP,check this out as there are also UAE Dirhams.Morrocan dirhams were/are illegal outside the country.
