Been married 29 years. Wouldn’t want to be be with anyone else.

Not an expert on relationships but I am a great believer of never going to sleep on an argument. Don’t let disagreements fester.

And with hindsight being a parent has it rewards but it is can be draining so if you want children make sure the relationship is solid.

I said those same words to my daughter and her husband as part of my "father's speech", but added "stand there and fight!". It got a laugh, anyway.
The marriage lasted 3 years, but it was an amicable divorce.

I've just spent a week with my ex and her new husband. They have a newborn daughter so I took our daughter who lives with me to see her . Her new fella is a top guy and we go on the piss whenever I take our daughter to visit them . I actually get on better with my ex now that we're not together. Shes Thai and it's a saying I had with mates in Thailand. You could feel the wind of change blowing hours before the storm arrived. All the same them birds ,absolutely mental. No middle ground it's 0% or 100%

Married 5 weeks short of our 35th anniversary, when she died in my arms.
That was almost 13 years ago, and I've never felt inclined to try again. I do live alone, but my 2 girls (and granddaughter) keep giving me the motivation to keep smiling.

It's great you have your daughters look out for you mate. And a granddaughter.
It's 5 years since my post you quoted, so 38 for us now, still very happy together, she's the only girl for me. 42 years since we met on Xmas eve at SIDS in Stalybridge.
I would never shack up with another woman if anything happened to her, no chance.
