Marriage/happiness/longevity.

Been married for 9 years now. There have been tough times, but my mrs is a diamond. Like most men I'm completely selfish and need time to just sit, slob and watch the footy. She knows this, and allows me that time occasionally. It's just hormones you have to watch out for. She'll have her moments of being a complete nightmare, going mental about things she wouldn't usually care about. And it's in those times I have to make sure I'm not my usual ignorant self, and pretend to listen, agree and let her have her moment. In a day or two she's back to normal and all is well. Having three young kids has been testing and we don't have family nearby to have much time to ourselves, but the loves there and we support one another and life is good.

I like to refer to it as “the remainer”, while wifey calls me Orinoco. True story, in the days of two balls I had a vasectomy - to avoid awkward conversations about my 2 whole days off, I bought a couple of packs of Jaffa cakes for the office, when asked what I was celebrating told them “being seedless”. Made me chuckle anyway!
