Scrutinising the way it's panning out in the tables. There are some good second-placed teams there, but nothing that we should not be capable of handling. It's a good thing that Juventus and Dortmund top their groups.
I think Dortmund have a soft underbelly like traditional Tottenham teams. Their defence is a shambles and their top players (i.e. Sancho) go missing on big occasions.

How Lucien Favre keeps his job is something that has baffled me for almost two years. I'd have no concerns about City drawing them.

Put draw only because I can’t guess what team he will play and how many youngsters will start. If we go fully strength I would have said win.

Certainly, they're not the Dortmund that ran us absolutely ragged in 2012. As I remember, Joe pulled off one of those astounding performances that he was still capable of giving in those days (and for a few years after). They're still dangerous, though. Of those we could get, I'd rather play any other side, with the exception of Juventus. I'd love it if we got Barca. We've got a lot of payback we owe them. With the exception of one player, they're trash, really trash, at present. And he's not doing much, because he can't do it all on his own.

I suspect he'll play a stronger XI than many of us would like to see. Just hope it doesn't bite us on the arse in terms of injuries if he does.
I get that feeling but I'm hoping your dead wrong :)

I don't think anyone wants to see KDB in particular tonight.

Although I’m OK with that, he’ll also wrestle with not wanting to disrespect the tournament. And he doesn’t feel Mcr derby games like the fans do.

I don't think he cares based on his previous lineups in these dead rubbers.

2016 vs. Celtic

Caballero, Maffeo, Sagna, Tosin, Clichy, Zabaleta, Fernando, Gundogan, Nolito, Sane, Iheanacho.

I'm hoping for a team like -

Steffen; Cancelo, Garcia, Laporte, Zinchenko; Fernandinho, Doyle, Foden; Torres, Jesus, Palmer.

But I expect Bernardo will start over 1 of the kids.

Ah right. I don‘t remember that one but it’s encouraging. Yup, your team looks fine to me. I’d rather Foden plays the derby but we all know that’s highly improbable.

Dead rubber is a term used in sporting parlance to describe a match in a series where the series result has already been decided by earlier matches. The dead rubber match therefore has no effect on the winner and loser of the series, other than the total number of matches won and lost.

...Thanks?

Don't think that team will be too far off. Maybe Walker for Cancelo, and not sure he'll risk Jesus ahead of the derby. Think Torres may play as the striker tonight.

Doyle and Palmer do seem higher up in Pep's thoughts than THB, but that's just me speculating. I don't know about Braaf as he's been unavailable for a while as of late.
We've now got 4 good center backs in their 20s. I cant see THB getting anywhere near the team for a little while barring injuries

I think he sees Manchester derbies as league games, which is correct. And i don't think he cares about "respecting a tournament" which often doesn't respect us, and his priorities are the league game by a mile . He might play one or two first teamers who need game time, like Fernandinho and Laporte, but apart from that I think he'll rest everyone who will start on Saturday.
