6 months ago, Arsenal fans were claiming Merino was the better player, he'd complete their midfield etc etc. They're already writing him off claiming he does nothing.

Zubimendi doesnt improve them, he will just replace partey like for like, they're just paying for a fit more often and younger version of him. Eats into their budget for players they need to actually improve. The £800m Stoke just become the £850m Stoke.

This is an unserious opinion. Players dont have to choose the better team to be serious. Some might even argue, joining a team on the rise and being part of the march to topple the top team is even a greater achievement than joining the team that has won everything without you.

There are many ways to view ambition. Frankly, i dont think we bid for him. I think we showed interest but Arsenal bid and he accepted.

Is he supposed to wait and see if City's first 2 options, Guimaraes and Ederson fall through to see if City wants him?

That to me is the real showing of no ambition.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't this almost word for word what people were saying about Merino who has now been relegated to 3rd choice (4th if Partey extends), a guy that many of here were calling one of the best moves of the window and couldn't believe we didn't try for him

Can't say I've seen enough of Zubimendi to know just how good he is, and yea its frustrating why we haven't bought a DM yet but there are plenty of DMs out there for us still to target

Would be more worried if Arsenal had jsut bought a proper CF rather than another CM

Already acknowledged hes younger and fitter. Is he actually better? Partey is very good when he's fit, if he is better, it's an incremental upgrade, its much easier and cheaper to upgrade elsewhere and get more improvement. I didn't say it wasn't a good get, i think he is, he just doesn't improve them, simply a younger replacement.
