I would sack off trying to buy a centre half and have Kompany and Demichelis as the first choice with Nastasic and Rekik ready to step up when it's their time.

We don't need anyone else!
 
If he lifts that trophy on Sunday he'll come back with his confidence pumped sky high for us. It seems to me that he buys us a season, or at the very least, a half-season's grace. Clearly, we've got to be looking at someone to accompany Vinny or as back up for Nastasic sooner or later. But there doesn't seem to be anyone of genuine quality that's available and really wants to come to City at present. And I for one don't want star players who think they're doing us a favour by coming here. We're way beyond that now.
 
I am perfectly content with Martin as our starting centre half this coming season.

What a 12 months he has had. He has shown amazing character and resilience to emerge from almost being hounded out of Manchester, to starting in a World Cup final. Credit to Martin and to Pellers for sticking by him.

I can't wait for our three City boys to play in the Cup final.

Congratulations Martin, Zab and Kun. I am sure you will represent City and country with pride.
 
I find it bemusing that people think we don't need a new centre back. Demichelis is quality, but we're competing for 4 competitions and have already released Lescott. Plus, Kompany will miss a lot of the season with his usual muscle injuries and Martin is well into his 30's. We are DESPERATE for a new centre back.
 
I don't think anyone doubts his ability to defend deep like he does for Argentina(or he did so excellently against Hull), but you'd need to be blind to not see that he can be easily exposed with the system we want to play. Great guy to have around though, excellent for a backs to the wall job and adds leadership if Vinnie isn't fit
