Martin Demichelis

i thought him and navas were miles better than yaya and silva last night... as for kolarov(nobody is better than him at ducking under a ball he should head), nastasic and dzeko... terrible performances!!!

Are people really saying that he had a good game last night and that he was better than Yaya? For most of the game Yaya dominated the midfield until Matic did a number on him as the game went on.

Martin Demichelis is not a holding player, he cannot perform the role that Fernandinho does but he is still an excellent center back. He was left hung out to dry and I can't for the life of me understand why we didn't throw Milner on. If he was injured he shouldn't have been on the bench. Why oh why did we let Nigel De Jong leave or why not give Rodwell a go?

Didn't seem the Chilean had many options against Chelsea but it's clear that from the moment he put the Argentine in that holding role spot Mou seized it as the key to their gameplan

He did better than a lot of people are giving him credit for, the problem was the formation, he needed help in there. In my opinion. Milner should have been brought on for Dzeko and a five man midfield deployed as it was plain to see that we were being swamped at times. Yaya was one of the better players tonight but for me would have been better used a the top of a five man midfield where he could have hurt them more. Pellers seems to be a bit rigid in his thinking at times and looked lost last night.

Maybe not, however that isn't the role he was been asked toplay. Demichelis playing as the holding player in a '3' would be absolutely fine, much as Garcia is. Fernandinho is not a holding midfielder; his role is far more expansive than that and that's why he's so hard to replace.

sorry, but he's shit!

He is. Was very lucky to get away with that dive today as well to win a FK.

I don't understand Pellegrini's fixation with playing him at all. It's like he thinks he's a Vieira type figure when nothing could be further from the truth
