Has it been copied and pasted onto the Chavski thread? It fookin should be and onto every other fookin forum on the planet

Samuels has just accomplished a one man demolition job on that cabal of charlatan hypocrites - he has systematically dismantled their argument and exposed the whole raison d´etre behind the most ill conceived piece of football regulation bar none
Shame on those clubs insidiously lining up behind Platini - they are a disgrace

As for that egotistical coont ..... plzzzzzz tonight!!!!!

Agreed , can someone with more nous than me please, please post this article on as many opposition forums as poss and make sure it gets into Platini's inbox.

Posted it on RAWK last night.

Martin Samuel is one of the few voices of reason out there.

How the manager of a club owned by a Russian Oligarch who jumped practically overnight from no money to one of the richest on Earth after the fall of Communism, and goes everywhere with a team of bodyguards ... has the audacity to call City "dodgy" is beyond belief. Surely he needs a mirror ?

It's all designed to make everyone feel a bit anti-City tonight, including the ref and his assistants.

Not so much "mind games" as "childish name-calling".

Same with all the stuff from Mourinho about City being lucky with refereeing decisions all season - ridiculously obvious attempt to make sure we don't get anything from the ref tonight.

I imagine that went... well.

Aye, none so blind as those that can't see!
The group of clubs that demanded to keep all home gate receipts, to the detriment of "lesser" clubs, the group of clubs, the G-14, that prompted the formation of the CL, with veiled threats of a breakaway European league, and the same cartel that then thought they would just keep their position in the established order of things, due to the massive discrepancy in money received by being part of the Sky 4.
Don't like it now that the order has been disrupted, and they can't see that FFP has got f all to do with protecting the likes of Leeds United, or other clubs who have overspent in the past. It's all about keeping the status quo.
Fuck 'em, to use a technical term.

I posted the story on facebook. Take a look at the gem of a reply from a rag (who I should say is usually one of the more clued up ones). Words fail and just go to show the depth of brain washing they are under:

I've done so well to refrain for so long but the SECOND you congratulate Martin Samuel for a piece of journalism is the second i need to ask did you actually read the article, or did you just look at the pictures??

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt in that you don't get to read the rags this side of the pond often but Martin Samuel is what we would call a 'gutter journalist'. A typical article of his consists of him vomiting his meager thoughts onto a keyboard and calling it journalism. Football journalists these days are pretty poor in general but he is absolute farce. I've honestly read some of his stuff and questioned was it some sort of joke at the end - utter drivel.

This article is a good point in case, and this isn't me being a biased fan. I couldn't care less about FFP and there's no way City will be kicked out of the champions league so mute point.

There's too much garbage in the article to point out everything but just a few things. Firstly, it's all conjecture written as fact. Secondly, the whole thing has stemmed from a few words from Mourinho at his press conference on the subject and all of a sudden all of sudden all the top clubs are collaborating to get kicked out of Europe - this would be one of the points where i would question whether it was meant to be a joke.

"City had to smash their way in or risk exclusion. This was Platini’s doing, not City’s choice"...City had to spend £600m on players in the last five years...because of Platini...LOL - that should cover that.

"Image and intellectual property rights have been sold to an unnamed party for close to £50m" It was sold to a sister company of the Sheiks (adding this fact to the article would naturally debunk his whole point of view), so in reality they still own the rights but it makes the accounts of City look a lot better than they actually are, just like the inflated sponsorship deal with Etihad. This is actually what everyone has a problem with. Their 'clever' accounting.

Reading through the comments at the bottom of the DM article, and also reading up other fans forums on this subject, there seems to be an increasing voice of concern that City are growing into a football behemoth, becoming an unstoppable force in the national and European game.

I read up on this after I drove around the new training campus yesterday; it is breathtaking in its size and intent. On top of that, the pre-construction works on the Etihad Stadium itself to increase the capacity to 60k has already begun.

And now reading how well ALL our teams are doing, from the kids right through to the EDS and the senior squad, considering the push in the quality of our women’s team, and the purchase of other clubs in the USA and Australia to gain a solid base in those continents, and to add those teams to the growing Manchester City organisation....

These people have every right to be worried.
