Martinez sacked.

all over tomorrow's back pages that koeman is their to target and has been offered 100m "war chest"

both the telegraph and the mirror have gone with the 100m "war chest" headline so maybe there is something in that, especially with their new owner on board adding on to the premier league cash.

i have a feeling if he has assurances that the likes of lukaku and barkley etc... will stay, he could be influenced into a move.

Well as the bottom club will receive 100m next season it is hardly a gamble to give a manager that amount to spend. It means probably 3-4 top players if they can attract them and pay their wages.

Heard a bit on Talkshite about this and the new manager. The fucking idiot talking said that the fans were used to watching good football, and that they had a history of/were used to winning trophies. Where the fucking hell has this tool been? Just fucking trotting out the usual shite soundbites.

From the responses to my post, I'm guessing people think the Europa League is small fry. It is, sort of. But it's really hard to get through. The fatigue and all the games. Look at how we struggled with a much more expensive squad.

Because we couldn't be arsed. The league was the priority and quite rightly so. Yes the CL spot for winning it makes it marginally more interesting, but on the most part it's dire. This year, the onLy reason there's been any sort of interest in it is because the dippers, rags and Dortmund were in it, and as a result some cretins in the press start going on about how the EL is now bigger than the CL - ffs. Well they're welcome to their glamour final of the team currently eight in the PL taking on the team that is currently 7th in La Liga (and who finished 3rd in our CL group). Wow can't wait.

I wonder if Mourinho would be interested at all, especially with the £100m "war chest" rumours.

First of all, Mourinho's style works better with a smaller club (Porto & Inter). There's a few potentially world class players there (Lukaku, Stones, Barkley), plus some experienced players like Baines and we know Mourinho likes an experienced team.

An experienced team, who are suited to playing counter attack football, with a few gems going forward. It sounds like a good fit for Mourinho, especially if the £100m rumours are true. Getting them solid and organised, with Lukaku, Barkley plus one more going forward on the counter attack.

With Kenwright in charge there may well be a £100 million warchest available but it would include money from the sales of Barkley and Stones maybe 60 - 70 million.
