Mary Dee's

if you dont like it, then dont go in. it's not difficult. the beer/cider is rank, and i'm not its biggest fan and flit around all the bars, but it's great at times and easily has the best atmosphere out of all the pubs.

The beer has improved. The lager was drinkable on Sunday.

I go in Mary D's before every home match I attend. Nowhere else matches.

Like to go in before games to get in the mood but like somebody has already mentioned, Mother Macs is great especially after the game. Full of blues but to be fair is hidden quite well and fills very easily.

For me Mary Ds before hand though :)

The Townley before the game - decent pint and good atmosphere and The Mitchell Arms afterwards, again decent beer and it's on the way back into town.

Shit hole owned by reds!

I'm sure the owner , at the time of the rag paint daubing on his wall , said he himself was a City fan.

I think it's quite funny he's a rag. We take over his Pub, sing songs to piss them off and all go to see City.

The Pub's only busy around 30 times a year. He'll make a living but we've still turned his place Blue.

A disgrace of a pub.

Pretends to collect for the Heart Foundation, yet it is used to pay for things the owner is required by law, to do so.

Absolute bollocks mate, the woman who collects for the Heart Foundation is nothing to do with the pub and actually lives in Stockport. You might not like the pub but saying things like that is down right stupid.

We'll have to disagree, and I've had the conversation with the lady in question, an old dear, with obviously heart in the right place (no pun intended)

It soon became clear (on this occasion) she explained was collecting for the pub to purchase a heart de-fib, or the landlord would be forced to put a charge on the door to adhere to the health and safety.

Her argument, being what would we rather prefer?

My argument being, the landlord was a disgrace and he should not have been using her or the Heart Foundation's reputation to subsidise what he should be financing out of his own.

Used to go in here but beer was undrinkable.
We have used the Townley for last 5 years. Landlord Tony is a blue, even though some of the staff aren't. The beer is a half decent pint and the staff are really friendly.
In my humble opinion a far better bet than Mary Ds
