just for the record i couldnt care less if kehoe is a rag a blue or nothing, he provides a service if people dont like it keep away ive seen worse pubs, but myself i stopped going in when he wanted extra for my 4x4 so now we park elswhere the excuse was it takes twice the room up when infact its shorter than an estate car, he's not only lost on his parking he;s also lost out on the 4 passengers drinking about 4 pints each a loss of £70 thats about £1400 over the season without cup games, he cant be that short of a few bob to turn that down as he's reading this thread my advice to him would be to change or improve the quality of beer and drop the price a little and the place would be packed again oh and have a flat rate for the parking

After reading the interview, on the bluemoon website, i suppose i should not have been surprised that i was completely misquoted. I would like to explain that the question posed to me was (NOT) about summer bees bar, in the city square. The question that i gave my opinion to was, what is your opinion about the planning application to have a 7,000 person licenced area outside the stadium in the city square location, opening to sell alcohol for three hours before and one houre after each event. my response was, if this application is granted, it would probably mean the end of good matchday buisness for the bars, take aways,and shops surounding the stadium, and that the three bars on greymare lane,closest to the stadium, which are maryds, the manchester, and the eastlands, would eventually close, with the loss of around 100 jobs, be it around 50% temporary jobs. Never the less, i think this would have a big local impact. My response was, how greedy, how much is enough?. How is this giving back anything to the local comunity?. If someone can explain this, please write your genuine response. For the record, to the doubters, and roumer spreaders, I AM A TRUE BLUE, WHICH MY FRIENDS ALREADY KNOW. M Kehoe. The question he answered is irrelevant really, as the main point still stands; his place is a shithole and given the choice of a better alternative, fans will choose to go elsewhere. He's had a captive audience for years and has taken the piss out of that captive audience by serving shit beer, charging stupid prices and allowing the place to remain a disgusting shitpit.

It seems that the club are going to provide something much better, so he can either stand still and moan about it or figure out how he's going to differentiate and find a profitable niche for himself. If he was providing a decent product at a reasonable price, I don't think he'd have too much to worry about as the new City Square won't be to everyone's tastes, but it sounds like he's given up already.

I've known Mick for a number of years (used to go to school with one of his lads and bottle up in both Kehoes and Mary D's) and the article he's given doesnt suprise me in the slightest, all the bloke cares about is making money, each to their own and that, but if he can cut corners and save 5p serving piss poor beer to paying punters he will.

The fact that he came very, very close to selling the pub just before the plans were announced for City to take over Eastlands after the Commonwealth games says everything you need to know about the place if the City custom were taken away.

As many have said if he wants to keep making the ridiculous amount of money he's made over the past 8 years through owning Mary D's he'll have to move with the times, start serving half decent beer and maybe treat the old place to a lick of paint. The bloke is a business man and isnt stupid he knows this is the case but maybe leaning ever so slightly on Manchester Confidential will get extra publicity for the pub resulting in people calling in on their way to a game.

All this doesnt take away the fact that no matter what City build, on a matchday, people WILL still choose to go in there and drink whatever lager he chooses to serve whilst singing Munich songs, if you dont like it then dont go in, me personally ill see you at Summerbees.
