Mary Ds / trouble at The Townley

A fair summary of our "guests"

2 obese irish lads in utd tops buying City gear to get in our bit, police made aware.

Rag Grandad and his boy , no older than 6 , had a laugh saying its not too late to start supporting City as i was told to do re utd 50 yrs ago!

A "firm?" of pale rags, no colours, scruffy as chuff, eldest with zero teeth , v similar to last set of lfc gobshites.

The game itself confirmation that all the above are in continued decline on, off the pitch while we are watching the best team in the land and all the world tearing cockneys/ scousers apart again. Thanks Pep.

When I came out from etihad , very late, when we played Tottenham, there was a group of late teenage city supporters in the square pissed/coked up, who some of which were ‘ballies’.
What are ballies ? Also what happened to rags fans in Rome ?

Myself and my lad were walking past the Corner Shop as a group of the scrotes pitched up and started attacking it. Young lads with hoodies and faces covered in some cases. Haven't seen anything like that in years and looked more like what you see in Eastern Europe. What drives them to want that? Just watch the football FFS.

The lack of a good kicking.

Really? Was there until about 15.00 (not sure of the time) before having a couple in the ground. Wonder if Micky Francis was still in there.

He was. 100% sure it was him. Walked past me whilst I was videoing the incident. As he walked past he said, whilst smirking, and I quote, as it’s on video, “What a load of bellends”

City fans were locked in the Corner Shop. Probably by Security manning the doors. It’s ticket only on a matchday, so it’s mostly the same people. There are plenty of lads in there, but at that time, not long before kick off, it would have been mostly locals staying in the Corner Shop to watch the match. It certainly wasn’t full of City lads. Another soft MIB target at that time.

Going back to the ginnel. After regrouping, then going through the estate, the MIB’s could have walked down ginnel and it would have brought them out opposite the South Stand, instead of going back to the Townley, which was still surrounded by the Polce, even though the Police some how allowed the MIB’s to regroup in the estate, and to get back to the Townley around the back. Strange that. You’d think the Police spotters, and the Police in general that we’re there in force would have penned the MIB’s in and marched them away. Or at least secured the ginnel as well as the front of the Townley.

Just so I know which ginnel it is, was it this one mate?

If yesterday is anything to go by the MIB's have gone up another Hooligan level. Now wearing balaclavas like the Russian and Eastern European Ultras. We've all seen it kick off between club fans in England, but I've never seen fans fighting each other openly wearing balaclavas before.
These little knobs won’t have been MIBs they more likely to be those young Moston rats.

What time did it happen bud?

Not sure. Probably about 3.30pm. Can’t be accurate.

The MIB’s came down Hinckley Street. The Police blocked them off at the bottom of Hinckley Street, opposite the Townley, and pushed them back down Hinckley Street. At the same time they surrounded the Townley and blocked off the City fans from crossing the road.

The MIB’s then ran down Hinckley Street, did a left, and cut through the park, coming out on to Albert Street. The Police moved over, blocked them off, kept City fans back, and pushed the MIB’s further down Albert Street.

The MIB’s then ran down Pilgrim Drive, into the estate, regrouped, made their way through the estate, got to the ginnel, and tried to attack the City fans outside the Townley from the ginnel. Couldn’t see what exactly happened, but I could see loads plastic pint pots and beer flying over the fence. Sure the Police would have piled into the MIB’s as well.

The MIB’s then ran back up the ginnel, did a left, ran through the estate, and made their way to the corner shop and attacked it.

On Serious note. If you about think what the MIB’s did, attacking 2 seperate pubs, regrouping, having a free run of 2 separate estates, it was a poor show from GMP, considering they were tracking the MIB’s, had spotters out, and had numerous officers on foot, on horses, and in vans all around the area.

I’d say there was 30-40 MIB’s max. Quite a few scrotes, along with some proper heads. It wouldn’t have been too much trouble to corral the MIB’s on Hinckley Street and march them out of the area. We‘re not talking 100’s of United’s hardened MIB’s/Hooligans.

Years ago this but Roma fans ran over to the segregation to kick off, Rags did the same and the riot police in the middle kicked ten bells of shit out of the Rags, proper laying into them with truncheons. Just Google United fans Roma and you’ll see.

I am not sure if I am the older fella (56) or not but me and my son were walking down the path to the Townley to meet mates when the shithouses came from a side entrance and said "are you City", what all two of us?.

I have a broken jaw but my son fell, hit his head on the floor and was knocked out.

It was the scariest few minutes of my life as it seemed like an eternity before he came round.

Thankfully he seems to be ok but has been kept in hospital for observation.

I didn't think it was possible but I fuckin hate the red bastards even more today than yesterday.

An absolute shitehouse trick attacking you and your son but that's their mark. A 56 year old with his son fair game? Really? Thank God although both hurt it wasn't worse, although a broken jaw and being knocked unconscious isn't minor. Get well soon.

If City fans had a reputation for that sort of shithouse behaviour I’d like to think we’d sort it among ourselves. When a Chelsea fan who was a teenager got smacked a few years ago there was a Twitter witch-hunt to find the city fan who did it. No such thing ever happens with the rags, they used to chant they do what they want.

Of course not all of them are like that, but there’s a huge percentage who either support the bullying or ignore it.
It’s the kind of people they attract, join the biggest gang to bully the rest. Where I grew up was probably 60/40 them but the arseholes were mainly reds with me being the one of the few blue arseholes.

It happens, wrong place at the wrong time, I remember as a young lad getting spat on and my old dad taking a few digs from a firm of Stoke fans walking back to our car from an away game at the Victoria ground. Animals, always rooted for Port Vale in their occasional derby’s since.

Oh I know I've been going since the sixties so had my share. I'd like to think at my age even the most feral rag rat would realise I'm not looking to fight the idiots but I doubt it. It's from a bygone age now and time it stopped.

That and when they meet others happy to fight and in their age category, not older fans, shirters, women and kids.
I’m not proud of it but I’ve been involved in trouble at some points and they’ve only really had a go at me when I was completely outnumbered, on my own or when they had twice as much as the group I was in.
