Only 23, Rio had recently tipped him to develop into one of the top centre backs. I would see himself and digne (also linked today) as an upgrade on what we have

Oh ffs, he’s poor. Stands out in an average team, indifferent reading of the game and terrible on the ball.unless you have blistering pace, and he hasn’t, you can’t compensate for being only ok as a footballer.

He's fantastic at bringing the ball out and has bags of confidence. I'm not sure who @ArdwickAlbert has been watching but I'm not sure it's Holgate...

Good player, but I really can’t see the point of bringing in a CB at his age - we already have García, Adarabioyo and Harwood-Bellis who need a clear path to first team football without too many long term blockers in their way.

An older head to slot straight into the first team and be first choice alongside Laporte for the next few years while we bring the youngsters through makes a lot more sense - which is why the Koulibaly signing is perfect for where we’re at this summer.

There is a player in there and when you have the best manager ever we will see how good he is and will become.
