That's got to be bollox? Coppers arresting someone and taking them to Peter Fletcher?

Can testify that it is absolutely tru - he is my sons mate - i posted on a previous thread about knowing where the ball was

Essentially the lad was arrested by police where he worked and cuffed - i am not 100% certain it was Fletcher BUT there was a City official present which i am pretty certain he was Fletcher

This is 100% correct

Was he really dragged through Ashton?

Dont have all the details but essentially he was arrested - cuffed - threatend with a 3 year ban by a club official - de arrested - not seem my lad since yesterday morning so dont have anything more

what i do know is that the police could have knoeced on the door had a word with him or his father and taken it from there no issues - however other saw it differently

PR department should be all over Fletcher for this. The kid took the ball in the euphoria of one of the biggest days in the clubs history.

They should have made an appeal for the ball, the kid gets his picture on MCFC.co.uk and all is good.

Instead we have Johnny Jobsworth making the club look like dicks!
Indeed, that would be the tact, wise and intelligent way to deal with the incident.

Sadly, Fletcher doesn't have any of those qualities. This has happened to many times now, all I hear is bad stuff about him all the time. He's let the club down. He doesn't match the quality on the pitch. Time to go or get the boot.

The news reports are embarrassing. Supporters who "steal" footballs? I'll have to report my next door neighbour to the police for the amount of times he hasn't returned the ball.

If all the above is true, it's a really sad ending to a unbelievable week.

As others have pointed out.

All it needed was a phone call, an invite to the lad in question to go to the ground, do an interview, have his picture taken/get filmed handing the ball over to somebody(player/official) at the club, and it would have been a fitting end to the week.

Talk about a PR disaster and an opportunity missed.

I sincerely hope the club look at this and finally learn from another mistake.

If Mr Fletcher is involved once again(allegedly), I sincerely hope he is reprimanded. Over reactions and mistakes like this follow this man around and it can't be allowed to go on. If he wasn't involved, I apologise.

Fletcher is a walking disaster for the club. The story is entirely believable.
