I think the ref sent him off for how he started the tackle - two feet, off the ground. He finished with one foot lunging forward and actually got the ball. But hey, there comes a time when we have to apply the Laws of the Game as they are written: Players will be shown a red card for two footed lunges, unless yer shirt matches the colour of the card.
