Gabby Logan is a TV presenter and a former (very, very average) gymnast. She quite clearly is reading from an autocue and has probably had a couple of hours to rehearse her lines. It is patently obvious she knows fuck all about football and is more than likely just paraphrasing the editorial content. MOTD is usually presented by Gary Lineker, who also uses the autocue and has also probably had a couple of hours to rehearse the shite he spouts - contrast this to the few occasions when the BBC have a live (usually rag) game. Lineker, like the pundits, is atrocious. No continuity and many embarrassing moments of silence because they haven't had time to rehearse their lines. The BBC coverage of football is shocking. Full stop.
Back to Logan. She is obviously a bit dim. I remember her appearance a few years ago on Celebrity Who Wants to be a Millionaire, she was cringe worthily bad. Even the most simplest of questions saw her struggling to the point that I think even Chris Tarrent was a bit embarrassed for her - she is as thick as pigshit. Last night's programme, in my opinion, showed her trying to cosy up to two ex players who she thought new more on the subject matter than herself, consequently resulting in her coming across as biased towards us. I believe she had no idea what the hell she was talking about, just talking drivel as per her instructions.
If the BBC are to continue the policy of having the occasional female presenter for MOTD, they should probably plump for Rachel Riley. She may be a rag but at least she is honest and open about it, rather than pretending to be impartial. She is also a damn sight more pleasing on the eye :-)
