I wonder if Sir Anthony has set the tone for the cup semi with his ludicrous sending off of Fer today for a "tactical foul". It's not a red card unless you really want it to be...

How he saw that as a red is clearly by not applying the Laws of the Game as they are written. He decided he wanted a Swan off the pitch and got the opportunity. But the opportunity was totally wrong. But having seen the game v CFC last season nothing this fellah does with the whistle in his hand and the cards in his pocket would ever surprise me. I await the PL, the FArce and PiGMOL putting out a communique informing us that he will now spend a month down at Hough End PF and then a course of retraining. I think I will email those august institutions to suggest that I am available to 'tutor' him back to the beauty of applying the Laws of the Game as they were intended.

i don't think it was a bad decison.
Fer was cynical and looked quite aggressive when he did it, no trying to disguise it, even slightly, just swung his foot out and dropped him.

it wasn't a bad decision, It was a wholly wrong decision. Unless Fer had been running around fouling people and had already received a yellow card the Laws of the Game don't allow him to do that! A straight red for tripping someone? No! It falls into the category of someone deliberately handling the ball in roughly the same part of the field. It is not a sending off offence.

it was the way he did it. it was like there was malice involved.

Literally a shocking decision every week now, reckon it's too cushy up there for them, seems very little competition. Surely has to be better in the lower leagues.

Absolutely. Just plain wrong.

Someone is a hell of a lot richer this morning after taking a punt that he would see red and I will leave it at that.

I don’t think we should have been on 2nd. I also think that more attention should have been paid to Peterborough’s win away to Villa
