So even Shearer buys into the "next season" thing for Liverpool. It beats me. They haven't even had a particularly good season. Behind united and spurs and when you look at the points (75) that's not even 2 points per game, which is normally the benchmark for top 4. Yet somehow they are the ones to challenge. This "next season" thing seems to be catching. And If I had to pick any team to challenge us next season it would be United.

It’s been Liverpool’s year “next year” every year for over a quarter of a century, very nearly three full decades!

They are basing it on their games against us. I hate to break it to them but there are 36 other games to play.

And which Utd team is that Alan ? The one that scored more ? Nope, the one that won more games ? Nope, the one that won more points ? Nope
We could win 5 doubles on the trot & we’ll get them rammed down our throats. MOTD gave us the bare minimum they had to give us , no respect at all.

Yep, by that reckoning we should see Burnley, Palace and hudders in top 4. Shit we won't even qualify for Europe. Pep out.
I've studied their foolproof logic and I've concluded that Wigan will be our closest challengers.
