If you actually compare this City side with those "great sides", we are better in every aspect. It's not even close it's laughable.
I am not too sure about that. There was a mid naughties United squad that had Ronaldo, Giggs, Rooney, Tevez, Berbatov, Nani, Vidic, Carrick, Evra, Neville, Scholes, Van Der Sar. They got to consective champions league fnals and won consecutive league titles.
We may have beat that team and we probably judge that United team over their whole careers rather than how good they were at that particular point. Yet there is absolutely no way we are currently better than they were, in every aspect.
And yet we clearly are better than them in every respect. The numbers prove it.I am not too sure about that. They prove absolutely nothing without context. That United team won titles and got to Champions league finals. Now we did magnificent in the league but fell short in the Champs League, got embarrassed in the fa cup and did our best to get knocked out if the league cup.
Our stats are magnificent. We are the greatest ever team over one single season, in the premier league. That does not mean we are the greatest ever team. Now does it mean we are better than other teams in every way. In as far as that United team goes, I would have VDS, Neville, Evra, Ferdinand, Carrick, Rooney, Ronaldo and Tevez as being good enough to get in our team.
