Match of the Day - 2022/23

Just sent this complaint off to the BBC via their website. I wont hold my breath.

I watched the game between Everton and West Ham live on Sky and the minute silence was disrupted throughout with booing and shouting / counter shouting etc. I then watched Match of the Day in the evening and at the very beginning the presenter explained that both games played that day had paid their respects to The Queen prior to their games commencing. We were then shown footage of the silence held at Brentford v Arsenal's game and then of both managers / teams stood observing the silence at the Everton v West Ham game. The sound had clearly been edited out (or turned off) during this moment to give the impression that fans at Goodison Park (Everton's ground) had observed the tribute to The Queen impeccably. If I had not seen the tribute live earlier in the day, that is the opinion I would have formed. Why was the disruption edited out? I have taken this quote from the BBC's own website. ''The BBC is recognised by audiences in the UK and around the world as a provider of news that you can trust. Our website, TV and radio services, strives for journalism that is accurate, impartial, independent and fair.'' From your own mission statement I can only conclude that the Match of the Day programme I have just watched (or that particular segment of it) was neither accurate, impartial, independent nor fair. I can only imagine the BBC is reluctant to either show any form of dissent during the build up to The Queen's funeral or is afraid of upsetting Liverpudlians (a trait a number of media outlets appear to worry themselves about). Or possibly both. I look forward to your reply.

Great commentary from Guy Mowbray on MOTD.

'In 2009 Sir Alex Ferguson was asked whether City would ever go into a derby as favourites, he replied not in my lifetime...now it's every time'
Loved that. With the camera focused on his bulbous eyed head.
