Match of the Day

Maybe give us all a vote asking which toilet we can flush it down, because believe me if it came to a vote it'll all come down.
If you gave a vote - "should "we" get rid of City" then we'd be gone too, likewise for nearly every tv programme, MP etc etc

You’d have a point had he said it on the program.

Unless you’re a politician, using your logic, you shouldn’t be able to comment on politics.

He is prominent figure for the BBC and what he posted was offensive.

Equating the language of politicians to Nazis is divisive and inflammatory.

I didn't hear him talk about Israel and Palestine, nor Tory language, on Match of the Day. When was that?

He’s guilty by association im afraid.

He’s paid by public money and therefore has a duty to be responsible with remarks he is making.
.

He should, he shouldn't. I admire him for speaking out. This is beyond concern about a job.

The BBC have ruined so many good programmes by interfering with the format and/or the presenters. Examples are Top Gear, A Question of Sport and Newsnight. They are now doing the same to MOTD.

Sorry, and Gary Lineker seems a likeable guy and all that, but I watch MotD for the footy, not the presenter and so-called experts, so the wage the likes of him and Shearer gets from the BBC is a joke. Also, will never forgive him for the comments that sending-off Hendersonat last weeks cup final, as should have happened, would be bad for the game. Just fuck right off, surely what’s good for the game is implementing the rule of football correctly. Still pissed off with that.
As for his political views, it’s a free country and should be allowed to express them imo.

I’m a tax payer. I pay for city

Not even close to the same thing, everyone pays for the BBC, do Arsenal fans pay for City?

The BBC is a "publicly funded" broadcaster it's our national representative in the media. Get the **** behind a paywall or put it to a vote.

Did they interfere with Top Gear or did the main presenter and writer assault another employee? Hardly the same.

Anyway, this was interesting from Sky News back during the controversy around Lineker's previous comments.

There's never been an issue with BBC employees giving political opinions in their free time. You literally had high profile BBC presenters writing weekly political columns in the newspaper. It's only when they give the 'wrong' opinions that certain people get angry.
