We haven't been "excellent". We have been decent. Villa have been absent and we have been very wasteful with our chances.

Still, we have a goal and that's all that matters. Now let's keep/consolidate our lead.

I think we need the energy of players like Aguero or Tevez (now Jovetic since Tevez has gone) to break teams like this down. I am not sure Dzeko+Negredo is really working as a pairing. Surely better to have one big tall striker and an Aguero-like player buzzing around behind?

Another great half. We are playing some beautiful football under Pellegrini.

However, I'll be the one to bring up a negative. Can anyone actually tell me what style of play gets the most out of Dzeko? Under Mancini, people said Dzeko couldn't thrive because our build up play was too slow. Now under Pellegrini, we are much more direct yet Dzeko is still Bambi. He did nothing in that half except misplace passes, mis-control and shoot wide. It says it all that Negrado has surpassed him in 4 league games.

Not posted on a match day thread in ages but when I've just read a comment saying we look like a Sam Allardyce team in the final third I've found it too difficult not to say something.

We are bloody dominating the match, and despite a lack of clear cut chances we're doing not too badly up top. A few misplaced crosses but a few really decent ones which unfortunately just haven't fell for us.

Some of the comments are embarrassing.

If we were more clinical we'd be beating teams 4 or 5 each week....We are world class yet we should be demolishing poor teams like this

I mean Spurs went there and scored 4...united last week not being greedy but we could have scored more...just an observation...

Some great displays there. Have to love Kolarov's crossing today, shame that no one can knock it in after his crosses. Milner's been disappointing in the attacking third but he can gome good in the second, I think some posters are a bit hars on him. And yeah, I criticized Dzeko before. :) Not that he's not active or playing badly, but he's a bit frustrating when it comes to decisions/execution.

Rest yaya for bayern. The way he is playing, he is our most important player no question.

Yaya will play every game in the first half of the season, he owes us extra for bogging off to lose in the Cup of Nations for 2 January's running.

Remember a few weeks ago when everyone was asking why Yaya was in the team?

He played well about three times last season, he's already played better in more games this season.

It's not really that suprising what he's doing with fern around him, 15 was in the head preseason, I'd say 20+ is on, if he achieves that he goes into the top 3/4 midfielders in the world!!
