It's match day hyperbole but we handled them relatively well for a top side in all competitions last season. Community Shield 3-2 the scoreline flattered Chelsea, we were the far superior side. 2-0 at home was a comfortable win and beat them in the FA cup as well.

I guess I classify it as a "thrashing" because we played them so many times and never lost, with one draw at Stamford Bridge.

I've now typed far too many words in defense of a joke aimed at Chelsea fans.
