I think Invoupd figure this tweak out. Rodri into CM or off, a real CB on.

Probably testing how well Lewis and Gunfo can do together. But introducing an extra variable behind them is not wise. Renders the context less telling.

More likely it’s about Rodri in defence, the obvious variation of having a CB step into midfield in possession is to have 3 at the back and a midfielder who drops into a back 4 out of possession.
