Oh dear, complete opposite of what we needed before Sunday. Contrived to make it much harder for ourselves than it needed to be. Committing a foul like Gomez did, in the VAR era, is doubly stupid. Let the guy go and he'll likely miss anyway, the ball was heading away from him & he likely wouldn't have reached it which makes Sergio's decision even worse.

Can't be too harsh on Gomez, he's been put in a bad position there.

How is it a shambles? Every decision was correct. The disallowed goal is farcical but by the letter of the law it was correct. That half was on us, Pep needs to give them a rocket.

These are the current rules used in the CL.

Apparently VAR and the referee deemed Mahrez’s handball “intentional”.

The game is gone if that was intentional.
