This is our ultimate control XI and I like it. Players like Doku, Nunes, Gvardiol, Alvarez etc all have their moments, but they also lose the ball a lot. This 11 tonight allows us to pin the opponent back for long periods as they know how to keep it. It’s just better, even allowing for the fact this is ‘only’ Copenhagen.

This is the type of lineup I like against big sides.

Doku is ideal for defeating a low block, but he makes me nervous versus a team like Madrid or Bayern who can make us pay for a turnover. I'm sure Pep realizes this is the case.
