Interesting....

Hairy hands claiming lino only put to flag up after Kasper kicked off with Taylor.
Looked like he had a tip from VAR. No way any official is seeing what happened because they'd need to look at Kasper pretty much the whole time. Lino, maybe, but not from side on. But the VAR was damming.

I'm actually happy with that, we've clearly dominated possession and we have created chances. So atleast based on that, the team game is playing out exactly as Pep would have wanted I imagine.

We should be up by 2 goals from Jesus/Aguero (either Jesus scoring or crossing better to Aguero), and Mahrez had a REALLY good chance to score, so the chances are there. Let's hope next half we keep creating and dominate possession to limit the counters.

Been very good. Our tactics first half always revolve around domination and tiring out the opposition, we've kept the ball well and won it back even better. Had a few great chances later on and should be winning. Its a slight concern were not ahead after such a dominant display but if we step it up a gear upfront second half as they tire the gaps will open up and we'll get more chances. Fernandinho and kdb have been superb.

I know it was offside but those through balls are kryptonite to Eddie, often to be found aimlessly charging out and either rounded or find the ball sliding under him.

Maybe he should try making himself big instead.

The problem is he comes out and then stops.

There's a Cambridge astrophysicist called John Harrison who does really good analyses of goalkeeping across the league and he worked out there's 3 dominant strategies by goalkeepers. Charge out, stay on your line, or charge and then stop.

Eddie does the last and it's the worst of the 3. It doesn't force the striker to make a decision far away enough from goal to make them miss, and it gives you no reaction time compared to staying on the line.

He did a really good thread on it on twitter. Apart from this he loves Ederson, his models rank him as the best from set pieces/corners and the keeper who has prevented the most goals this season.

the whole analysis of 1v1's for all keeper's is here -

Only replying as you went to the trouble of explaining your opinion which I respect but he knew where it was going, Aguero being where he was wasn’t a factor in him getting beat from 30 yards.
He’s not 100% sure he’s offside and can only react once the ball is past Aguero. It’s offside mate.

we dominated the first half all throughought. Kev, Jesus and Mahrez were excellent. Kun a bit rusty, lack of game time. It is just a metter of time before we bang a goal or two, come on city.
