Great game for a 0-0. This could is good in the long run, a proper test no doubt about it. Laporte immense. We look vulnerable on our left which is expected, Sané has made a couple of important interceptions. Mahrez has been sloppy but I reckon he’ll come good. I’ll take a draw tonight

Jesus just taken a look back on this thread. Embarrassing FFS. Yeah we’re not at our blistering best but we’re more than in the game .

Impressed with Lyon - they close our movement down so well and pass it well themselves - just as well they have missed the chances they have created. On the other hand we are struggling to impose ourselves - just shows the difference a specialist central midfielder makes - Sterling is doing OK but he's just not quite in the right places for the interception tackle and we lose his attacking threat when he is coming from so deep. Mahrez has been given a couple of good chances - forced a save and a block - but should really have done better.

Wonder if Delph might be a better option in the midfield than Sterling (although it is Mahrez I'd take off) - but whatever something needs to pick up in the second half.

Could be 3 or 4 down. Shocking performances in midfield. Sterling behind Sergio isnt working Fernandinho outnumbered time and tine again.
Pep needs to invert the V in central midfield and deploy a double pivot.
Marhez off, Delph on for me. Sterling out to the right.

Unusual for us to have so little control but have to credit Lyon for that and on balance we are lucky to be level. Maybe missing Bernado but I think our line up may be just a bit too attacking -I would put Delph on for Zinchenko who to be honest has not been helped by a poor display for Sane.

People saying these are a brilliant team.

The fact they are playing out of their skins, we have a completely unbalanced team, are defending like shit, have several players miles off their best & it's 0-0 at half time, they keep drawing their games, are already miles off PSG, is pretty much proof that they are not.

They are just raising their game, as best they can. Just like we have done many times in the past when we were shit.

Nothing on target from Lyon yet, (always a headscratcher that hitting the woodwork is classed off-target). We'll nick one which should be enough in this game.
