Forcing through the middle?

Not sure what your watching but all of our attacks are coming through Milner and Zaba flying down the right and hitting in crosses.

The odd through ball or long pass to get into the box but basically wing play.

Get Navas on and stick him on the left, Sagna is just sat on his own out there. Silva won't overlap with Clichy he will always look to come inside.

Milner has been our weak link in attack if you ask me, yeah he is a great grafter and comes up with some nice skill here and there, but he slows the attack down and frustrates the forwards when he has a moment to cross the ball and doesn't.

Navas needs to come on to open our attack, that should give Silva more space to work his abilites around the box.

I firmly believe as well that Sergio has to play with either of Dzeko or Negredo, this two big center forwards up top will not work against the top sides in my opinion, Sergio will drop off and help the build-up play which is something Dzeko or Negredo need to do more often.

Impressive half imo.

.

I must be watching a different match ..

I didn't see anything special so far, very frustrating have to say.

Feranandinho is class though!

Yes you must.

You 'didn't see anything special' but 'fernandinho is class'?

You don't find that special? or even impressive?

Can't help but feel that we're t our best when playing with one striker and 3 in behind. I'd love to have see:
JH
PZ/MR VK JL GC
Ferny YT
Jesus DS Jove
SA

as my starting XI for Newcastle. If you watch Arsenal here, when we're in possession they revert to a 5-4-1, their system allows for this, we're more open to the counter attack and feel this could be our undoing against sides with decent movement and pace. Obviously the interchanging between the attackers in this system makes it incredibly hard to pick up runners arriving from deeper positions.
Think Nasty is gonna be a big miss for the first weeks of the season, his positional play is very underrated; wouldn't expect him to have left that gap between JL and GC for the goal, although it was a superb pass by Ramsey in fairness.
