I think the game began to unravel with Delph's injury because he was the one doing all the running and covering space and the team had balance. After the injury, the ever obvious reality of our frailties in playing a midfield two became very obvious and damaging. Do not really think the centre backs have been too bad because they have been left exposed in many ways and caught out of position as they tried to compensate for the space afforded to Madrid by our midfield two. Set pieces does seem to have a familiar look about it from last season.

Hopefully we will see some youngsters in the second half. I believe Pellegrini should DEFINITELY have started Ihenachio as the front three combination of Sterling Silva and Ihenachio seems to be clicking and he offers presence and penetration up front. The young players offer novelty and urgency that was lacking in the first half and I believe that will be our weapon for the upcoming season- the young players and the new players cancelling out the complacency from last season.

It is just pre season at the end of the day so you cant read much into it and really the appealing thing is seeing new players and young players in the team and assessing how they perform.

Lmao @ the trolls on here who are taking this match seriously.

Who gives a fuck?

Win, lose or draw I'll watch City with a smile.
These Dummy spitting muppets couldn't handle a Middleborough drumming.

If you think that handball was deliberate then you need to go to spec savers.

And shock horror a smalle

Commentators usually get behind their nations teams when playing foreign clubs.

However, listening to this you would think Madrid are British.

For a commentator to openly claim that was not a penalty on Yaya is anti-City. There is no other way to describe it.

If this was United, Liverpool or Arsenal there would be constant references about it being a young team against a full strength Madrid not the constant digs.

Oh right. In fairness these commentators are based in spain as they cover spanish football, no doubt that they are a little biased.

Not sure what the thinking is of throwing Humphries in with Denayer against CR, Benzema, Isco, Bale, other than to destroy confidence.

Same problems as always in CM. Fernando is absolute shit. Dunno why Delph started on the left when the sensible thing would be to push Yaya further forward. Only thing I can think of is to get Delph sprinting up and down the flank for fitness reasons

It's a friendly but Real are further behind in preseason and yet it's us who look way behind
Maybe he's put them on to show them the level of football they're aiming to progress too. They'll work harder in training and be more focussed after this match.

Defensively Kolarov has been a liability for a while now, this really is an area we need to be looking at sooner rather than later. If we can find a suitor for Kolarov I'd sell him today, however I suspect it'll be a far more difficult than that.

100% man, I agree, I can't imagine too many teams being interested who can afford his wages, a loan with buy option to Italy seems the only realistic option.

Kroos is such a good Player. Mystery why Bayern sold him, is there any explanation?

Apart from there, Sterling showed his talent. He needs more training but will be top Player

Last year of kroos' contract so bayern didn't want him go for free
